Cogmed Practice:
This is an evidence based program to enhance working memory in whatever age or capacity it exist. While the data do not support this program in late stage dementia, it has demonstated it usefulness with preschoolers, school age children and adolescents, adults, some strokes victims, and seniors. Do you have a deficit in working memory? Working memory is the momentary recall of events and data that permits us to initiate work and organize our plans and intentions, and emotional expressions. This is not be be confused with short term or long term memory. Here’s a list of common deficits in working memory. Positive outcomes do not necessarily allow persons to replace medications as Cogmed and the medications appear to affect the executive functions differently. In some cases the two complement one another. I currently have two certified teachers in training to assist in coaching Cogmed users.
